It's my opinion!!
---I like this song cause it is good melody. However, I don't like the lyrics which are used gloomy words too much.
So, I think "Blackbird" means....black people who were demanding free from Apartheid in South Africa.
In the lyrics, "dead of night" means comfortable circumstances whom they were in.
On the other hand, "arise","fly"and"see" means a hope! I can feel their hope of free from this song!!
